Liz Harrop

Originally from Surrey (UK) and raised by two very creative parents, I have always had a love of bespoke, usable art primarily involving fabric, lots of texture and ceramics.  Having first been introduced to ceramics in my teenage years, I am now finding my way back to the wonderfully tactile medium of clay.

I want my ceramics to not only be beautiful to look at, but also accessible, usable and sometimes just a little bit quirky. The majority of my work is inspired by native NZ birds although some of my latest pieces of work are moving from practical pieces to more conceptual.  I enjoy hand painting and try to challenge myself with interesting colours, textures and forms.
