Gail Barratt

From my Waiheke Island studio, I create sculptural pieces inspired by nature, the ever-changing elements of the sea and the impact of climate change. Hand-building feeds my artistic nature, the tactile feel of the clay, the fingerprints, the marks I make are a glimpse of me. Previous careers in photolithography and photography have honed my eye for detail along with a desire to experiment with materials resulting in intricate and visually compelling art.
